SSEK Provides Updates on Manpower Law at ICAI Indonesia Event

SSEK partner Stephen Igor Warokka and associate Indrawan Dwi Yuriutomo discussed recent changes in Indonesian employment law at an event jointly organized by the Indonesia Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICICAI) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Stephen and Indrawan discussed manpower laws and regulations after the Job Creation Law, managing different categories of employment contract, working hours for employees in certain export-oriented, labor-intensive companies, two hats policy, and the liabilities of the boards of directors and commissioners of an Indonesian company. They also talked about corporate best practices for disabled workers, sexual harassment, and whistleblowers.

More than 150 chartered accountants from the ICAI work in senior management positions in large companies in Indonesia.
