SSEK Partner Moderates Regional Workshop on Foreign Workers with Indonesian Manpower Ministry and ASEAN

SSEK partner Stephen Igor Warokka helped to moderate a panel discussion at a recent regional workshop on Mechanisms and Regulation of Foreign Workers' Arrangement Among the ASEAN Member States, with Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower.

The workshop featured panel discussions on topics including Improving Working Conditions and Protection for Migrant Workers in the Era of the Pandemic: Policies, Best Practices and Challenges, and Immigration Perspective on Foreign Workers.

Indonesia's Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah gave the opening remarks at the event and the workshop closed with remarks from Anwar Sanusi, the secretary general of the Ministry of Manpower.

Stephen Warokka is a partner in SSEK's labor and employment practice and a supervising partner in the firm's immigration law and work permit practice. In 2019, Stephen was heavily involved in the process of helping to shape the contents of an Indonesian Minister of Manpower decree on positions that can be held by expatriate employees in various business sectors.
