Michael S. Carl, an international legal adviser at SSEK Indonesian Legal Consultants, will be a featured speaker at the 3rd Annual Smelting & Processing Summit being held May 11-12 in Jakarta.
Michael will discuss the Minerals Refinery Investment Environment in Indonesia. He will touch on topics including domestic mineral processing and refinery activities, the raw ore export ban, the draft new Mining Law, foreign shareholding limitations and divestment requirements, and land acquisition. His session is scheduled for Thursday, May 12.
Michael Carl is the supervising adviser for SSEK's mining practice. He works with multinationals and large domestic companies on all aspects of their operations in Indonesia's mining sector, including advising on smelting and other possible investments in mining assets in Indonesia. Michael is recognized for his wide-ranging knowledge and experience with Indonesian law and his ability to help companies navigate the country's regulatory environment.
Michael earned an Indonesian law degree in 2012 from Atma Jaya University, Jakarta and is fluent in Indonesian. Michael is named by Who's Who Legal as one of Indonesia's leading mining lawyers and he has been recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers Global, IFLR1000 and Asialaw. He was voted in 2012 as an Indonesian External Counsel of the Year by Asian-MENA Counsel readers.
