Summary
The purpose of this new tri-lateral trade agreement is to help level the playing field in terms of total labor costs in all three countries. The agreement imposes certain liabilities on US and Canadian employers doing business in Mexico and will dramatically affect workers in Mexico and the ability to unionize their workplace.
Also joining the conference will be Matthew Levin, Director of the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Trade and Labor Affairs, offering his perspective.
